  Varying Bar/day intervals on chart
Posted by chuck on Jun-27-2020 02:39
Hi Jeff,

A broker just changed how they send 1 Day OHLC data... for dates prior to 06/01/2020 they send 6 days per week (SUN - FRI), dates on/after 06/01 they send 5 days per week (MON - FRI).

Since the number of days forming a week interval is different... does that pose any problem accurately displaying (a) the Bars, (b) using the Trendline functions, or (c) any other aspect of Chart Director?

Thank you,
Chuck

Hi chuck,

The number of trading days per week does not matter and will not affect the chart.

Even for normal financial charts, the number of trading days per week is variable and unpredictable. Non-trading days may include Sat and/or Sun, public holidays, and non-trading days due to natural phenomena (such as hurricanes or typhoons) or other human causes. ChartDirector is designed to handle variable and unpredictable trading days, so it does not matter whether there are five or six or variable number of trading days per week.

Regards
Peter Kwan
